Welcome to NightFast ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and protected when you use the NightFast application ("App").
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID email address (or private relay email) and display name.
- Nutrition Data: Food logs, calorie counts, macronutrient information, meal schedules, and dietary preferences.
- Profile Information: Daily calorie goals, dietary restrictions, night schedule preferences, and notification settings.
- Photos: If you use food recognition, photos are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, and session information.
- Device Information: Device model, iOS version, and app version.
- Crash Reports: Anonymous crash data to improve stability.
3. Apple HealthKit Data
With your explicit permission, NightFast integrates with Apple HealthKit:
Data We Read:
Sleep analysis (duration, quality, schedule)
Data We Write:
- Dietary energy (calories)
- Protein intake
- Carbohydrate intake
- Fat intake
- Caffeine consumption
Important: All HealthKit data remains on your device and in your personal HealthKit database. We do NOT access, store, or transmit your Health data to any external servers. You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 iCloud Storage
Your nutrition data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit:
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Only you can access your data through your Apple ID
- Data syncs automatically across your Apple devices
- We cannot access your data without your device
5.2 On-Device Processing
Food photo recognition uses on-device machine learning. Photos are never transmitted to external servers.
5.3 HealthKit Data
HealthKit data is stored exclusively on your device and in Apple's Health app. We do not have access to this data on any server.
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal information.
We only share data with:
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit): For data sync across your devices
- Apple (App Store): For subscription processing
7. Your Rights
7.1 Access
Export your data from Settings → Privacy → Export My Data.
7.2 Correction
Update information directly in the App.
7.3 Deletion
Delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete Account. All data is permanently removed within 30 days.
7.4 HealthKit Permissions
Manage HealthKit access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → NightFast.
8. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Data retained while account is active
- Deleted Accounts: Data permanently deleted within 30 days
9. Children's Privacy
NightFast is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have rights to know, delete, and opt-out. We do not sell personal information.
11. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
EU users have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Contact us to exercise these rights.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.
